In Loving Memory

Aleda c. Michels

February 15, 1950 - June 16, 2013

At 12:56 AM, on Sunday, June 16th, 2013, Aleda Christine Michels began the next stage of her personal transition, from this plane of existence to the next. In lieu of flowers, tell those around you that you love them and take your significant other or best friend out to dinner.

Aleda fought hard the last two weeks and finally, she ended her struggle. The doctors never knew what caused her illness. All I know is that on Sunday, May 26th we were enjoying dinner at The Cheesecake Factory after going to see the Great Salt Lake in Utah and on Sunday the 16th of June she had passed away.

Stop and not only smell the roses, but pluck one and give it to someone special. We don't always tell those we love how much they mean to us. I found out the hard way that you may think you have time to do those things you planned on doing together later, that you don't always have that "later." I can only look at all of the things we had planned on doing in our second ten years together that we had not done in our first ten years and now we will never get to do them.

A person's greatness is not in who they are or what they have done. A person's greatness is determined by their impact on the lives of the people they met. If those people are better off for having known someone, then that someone is a great person. Using that definition as a yardstick for measuring a person's greatness, Aleda was a truly great person. Everyone she met came away a better person for the time they spent together.

You are the Love of my Life. As you did with so many others, you truly made me a better person by the time we spent together. Goodnight Aleda, Not Good Bye, for we will meet up one day in that great expanse of the cosmos.
